Introduction to Sheepdog Training

Hilary who has a wealth of knowledge and experience made sure everyone who attended with or without their dog had a great time and we all walked away with a training booklet & lots of invaluable information. Aeron supplied us with refreshments, and along with her with her dog Jess showed us the ropes when it came to running rings around the sheep literally!

The morning part started with introductions, advantages and disadvantages of the various equipment available followed by a chance for us to demonstrate our command of our dogs in close proximity to each other- the dogs and owners were very well behaved and no disagreements occurred! After Lunch and for the rest of the afternoon you had the chance to have one to one tuition (this alone was worth every penny) out in the field with a flock of willing sheep. So If there are any would be sheepdogs reading this and would like to bring their owners along we can thoroughly recommend it.
